No heating? No hot water? Strange noises, error codes, or a boiler that keeps cutting out? We'll find the fault and fix it. If we can't fix it on the spot, we'll tell you exactly what's needed and quote before doing the work.
Not sure if you need an engineer? Check our DIY checks & simple fixes page first — some problems you can sort yourself.
Covers the visit, full diagnosis, and any minor repair we can do on the spot. If a bigger fix is needed, we quote before doing the work — no surprises, no pressure.
These are the jobs we see every week. Some are straightforward, some take real diagnostic skill to pin down. Either way, we'll find it.
There are many components in a boiler or a system that could be the cause. We work through it methodically. If the problem is with hot water specifically, it may be a cylinder fault rather than a boiler fault — we diagnose and repair unvented cylinder components too.
Error codes point you in a direction, but they don't tell the full story. Please make a note of any error codes you see and also if possible, what the boiler was doing at the time. It's all useful diagnostic information.
Banging, kettling, gurgling, whistling — each one means something different. Could be limescale, trapped air, pump wear, or a heat exchanger problem.
Internal leaks from the heat exchanger, pressure relief valve, or failed seals. External leaks from pipework or fittings. We'll find the source and fix it properly.
Some radiators cold while others are fine, or underfloor heating zones not pulling their weight. Could be a pump or valve issue, balancing that's never been set up properly, a blockage in the pipework, pipework that's undersized for the job, or the boiler not putting enough heat into the system due to a fault or incorrect settings. We'll work out which it is.
Heating coming on when it shouldn't, not responding to the thermostat, zones not working independently. Electrical control diagnostics is one of our strengths.
Boiler losing pressure repeatedly usually means a leak somewhere in the system, a faulty expansion vessel, or a failed pressure relief valve. Sometimes you can identify the cause yourself — check our DIY checks & simple fixes page first. If it's not obvious, we'll trace the cause rather than just topping it up.
Common in cold weather. You can often thaw it yourself — see our DIY checks & simple fixes page for instructions. If that's not practical, we can look at a temporary fix to get the boiler running again and quote for an alternative condensate arrangement to stop it happening next winter.
We service and repair back boilers — the older units that sit behind a gas fire. Many engineers won't touch them, either because they've never worked on one or because they'd rather sell you a replacement. We've been maintaining them for over 20 years. If yours is still going, we'll keep it going. When it's time to replace, we'll tell you honestly.
Wiring issues, control problems that don't throw a clear error code — the jobs that other engineers have looked at and couldn't solve. We see a lot of these, and we're good at them.
We work on every boiler brand — Baxi, Vaillant, Worcester, Ideal, Potterton, Glow-worm, Viessmann, and the rest. Old boilers, new boilers, and everything in between.
If a repair costs more than the boiler is worth, we'll tell you. We'll explain the options and let you decide — no pressure to replace something that can be fixed, and no pressure to fix something that should be replaced. If a new boiler is worth considering, we'll produce a fully specified quote at no additional cost.
Our vans carry the parts we use most often — diverter valves, pumps, safety valves, thermostats. Many repairs are completed on the first visit.
Jade will ask a few quick questions — what's happening, what make and model your boiler is if you know it, and when suits you. That's it.
The engineer works through the fault systematically. If it's a minor repair, we'll fix it there and then — covered by the £90 + VAT call-out.
If parts are required or it's a bigger job, we'll explain what we've found and give you a fixed-price quote. No work starts until you've agreed.
Most repairs are completed on the first or second visit. We'll keep you updated if we need to order parts, and we'll book the follow-up before we leave.
We don't offer a formal out-of-hours service, but if it's urgent, send a WhatsApp and we'll do our best to get back to you quickly. During working hours, Jade usually responds within the hour.
