We offer three types of system flush, matched to what your system actually needs. But here's the honest truth: about 9 out of 10 systems we're asked to flush don't actually need one. The problem is usually something else.
Customers often come to us after another company has been unable to diagnose a heating problem and has recommended a power flush as the solution. In our experience, the actual problem is usually something else entirely. A flush on a system that doesn't need one is a waste of money. We diagnose the actual problem before recommending any flushing work.
When a flush is genuinely needed, we use the right method for the situation.
Often the best and most cost-effective approach. The MagnaClean magnetic filter captures debris from the circulating water. When combined with DS40 (an acidic cleaning agent), it can break down and remove stubborn sludge and scale. This is our most commonly recommended method for systems with magnetite problems.
The original method using a large flushing machine. Rarely required and doesn't work at all on some types of system. We'll only recommend this when it's genuinely the right approach.
When we install a new boiler, the system is always flushed. Every radiator is flushed individually. This uses the MagnaClean filter (which we always install with a new boiler) and we hot flush with cleaner, drain down and refill with added inhibitor.
We'll diagnose whether a flush is actually needed and recommend the right approach. Call or WhatsApp and tell us what's happening.
